If geology fascinates you, this may be the World Map you're looking for. In light of the recent earthquakes around the world, its important to understand the anatomy of Earth's crust and its tectonic plates. Before I get into Fault Lines, its important to understand what 'Fault' actually is. Fault is the discontinuity in a volume of rock, across which there has been significant displacement along the fractures as a result of earth movement. Large faults within the Earth's crust result from action of tectonic forces. Earthquakes are caused from the energy release associated with rapid movement on active faults. Fault lines are lines of intersection between the fault plane and the earth's surface, representing boundaries between tectonic plates.

Check out the World Map of Fault Lines which represents the lines that mark a boundary between two tectonic plates of the Earth's crust.
